USA Freestyle Kayaking has awarded the Reno River Festival the 2016 U.S. National Whitewater Freestyle Championships. This event will bring the best kayakers in the country to the Truckee River Whitewater Park for the nation's biggest competition of the year. This will be the first time Northern Nevada has hosted the nationals. It is the can't miss competitive kayaking event of the year. 2016 will re-establish downtown Reno as one of the top whitewater parks in the world. We are excited for the opportunity and even more excited for our community.
The whitewater competitions are only part of what makes the Reno River Festival, well a festival.
Craft Beer Village will feature more than three dozen craft beers.
The Reno River Roll will celebrate everything that is bicycle!
This casual 5-mile costumed slow ride will start at the on the brand new Virginia Street Bridge and finish in the heart of the Reno River Festival. Tour the streets of Reno on your best ride while trailing a live mobile band that will lead an experience unlike any bike ride you've been on before. The Reno River Roll is open to all ages.
Summer is synonymous with music and so is the Reno River Festival.
The music festival portion will soon become one of the event's most anticipated announcements. In recent years, the lineup has featured more up and coming and established national recording artists. The festival was headlined by RCA's Old Dominion in 2014 and BMG's Clare Dunn in 2015. Both artists have multiple top 10 country music hits. The Reno River Festival 2016 lineup will be the biggest and best yet.
