Being Winning Women in Christ through Sports
Seeing Women Win in Christ through Sports
A Woman Who Earnestly Prays
1 Samuel 1:10,13,15-16

"She was deeply distressed and prayed to the LORD and wept bitterly. ...Hannah was speaking in her heart; only her lips moved, and her voice was not heard. ..."No, my lord, I am a woman troubled in spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but I have been pouring out my soul before the LORD. Do not regard your servant as a worthless woman, for all along I have been speaking out of my great anxiety and vexation."
The story of Hannah in 1 Samuel ch. 1 and the first part of ch. 2 is a beautiful story depicting another component of being a winning woman; earnest prayer.

Hannah was in so much distress over being barren and how her husband's other wife would provoke her to irritate her year after year because of this. Rather than blaming these events on God, she let them bring her before God, completely pouring out her soul before Him. She didn't only know what she wanted, asking Him for a son, but openly and honestly expressed every feeling she had - sadness, grief, bitterness, distress, anxiety, frustration, etc. She didn't let the shame of her life keep her in bondage as it always tries to do.

Even if we aren't facing this particular situation, may we not be afraid to bring absolutely anything before the Lord, the smallest concern, the biggest decision, the worst emotion, the most sinful thought. None of it is too much for Him. None of it catches Him off guard. He wants us to bring it all before Him openly so He can have the freedom to move in our lives, bringing truth, grace and ultimately pure freedom to all of it.

Reconciling the male and female relationship
PRAY FOR THE MEN AROUND YOU

Acts 1:14
"All these [disciples] with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers."

This is a beautiful picture of men and women coming together to pray, shortly after Jesus ascended into heaven.

Prayer is essential in remaining close to Jesus. It's the avenue to Jesus who gives us strength, truth, grace, hope, joy and love, all things we need to face the days we live. We are all in a daily spiritual battle.

Men are in a spiritual battle, easily being tempted and pulled away from the Truth. Instead of turning bitter towards them for things they don't do well or shouldn't do at all, let's pray for and encourage them, build them up, forgive them, help them, come alongside and work with them, and speak to them with the gentleness and respect we're called to give.

Whether its our fathers, husbands, male co-workers, friends, business and community leaders, or any man we don't know caught in bondage, let's pray for God to raise them up to be the men they are called to be.
