Torah Chanting at Services This Friday!
Shabbat Services this week - Friday, February 19th, 7:30 pm - will feature chanting from our weekly Torah portion. Please join us as David Abraham chants from the Book of Exodus, Parsha T'tzaveh, 29:42:46.
We will also be celebrating February adult birthdays and anniversaries at this service. The oneg will be sponsored by Jane and Moses Alexander (many thanks!).

B'nai Mitzvah Project Profile
Students preparing for their Bat and Bar Mitzvahs are encouraged to complete a project profile so that information about their project can be posted on the TBC website. (Click here to view the project proflie form).

Stop Hunger Now Benefit Concert, Sunday Feb. 21, 3:00
A benefit concert for
Stop Hunger Now will be held next Sunday, Feb. 21, at 3:00 pm, at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 36 New Canaan Rd, Wilton. The Beethoven Archduke Trio will be played by Gunnar Sahlin (cellist), of the Norwalk Symphony, Nina Caruthers (violinist), and David Hollander (pianist). Please attend and bring a check $10.00 (or more!) payable to "Stop Hunger Now."

Stamford JCC Israeli Film Series Presents
Ushpizin, Tomorrow, 7:00 pm
On Thursday, February 18th at 7 pm, the Stamford JCC (1035 Newfield Ave., Stamford) will show
Ushpizin (2004), the critically acclaimed film brought to you by writer Shuli Rand, is a heartwarming and light-hearted look into the lives of ultra-Orthodox Jews living in modern-day Israel. The film follows the hardships of Moshe (Shuli Rand) and Malli (Michal Bat-Sheva Rand), an Orthodox Jewish couple in Jerusalem, who rely on their faith for miracles during the holiday season.
Ushpizin received Best Actor Award for Shuli Rand at the 2004 Israeli Film Academy. Following the film, Or Berger, The Stamford JCC's Israeli Shaliach, will lead us in a discussion. Popcorn will be served. $5 suggested donation.

Coping with Intense Feelings: the Emotional Rollercoaster of Tweens and Teens

March 9th, at 7:30 pm
TBC member Dr Aaron Krasner and Tracey Masella, both of Silver Hill Hospital, will present a program entitled "Coping with Intense Feelings:the Emotional Rollercoaster of Tweens and Teens."
Moody teenagers are hard to understand. Sometimes it seems everything is OK, but as parents we worry about something more serious happening and we want to know more about it. This talk is geared toward helping parents better understand the emotional lives of teens. Specifically it will help parents who have some worries about their teens assess whether or not their teens need help by providing insight about clinical depression and anxiety

Dr. Krasner is Board Certified in both child/adolescent and adult psychiatry and currently serves as the service leader of the Adolescent Transitional Living Program at Silver Hill,
Ms. Masella currently serves as the Social Worker for the Adolescent Transitional Living Progam at Silver Hill.

Attend a panel discussion by local clergy for this one-session Interfaith Program on Common Scriptures for the Common Good: Jews, Christians & Muslims. The panel will explore what is similar as opposed to what separates us in the sacred texts of our traditions with a view to the commonalities furthering interfaith dialogue in an age when that dialogue is desperately needed. Rev. Mary Grace Williams, St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, will moderate. Our panel will be: Rabbi Rachel Bearman, Temple B'nai Chaim; Rev. Dr. Jason Coker, Wilton Baptist Church; and Dr. Kareem Adeeb, American Institute for Islamic and Arabic Studies. No charge but donations are always welcome.
