Interservice rifle competition comes to a close, shooters make mark - MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Va. --  The 54th Interservice Rifle Championship wrapped up July 1, at Marine Corps Base Quantico. During the competition, shooters from across the Department of Defense competed in a myriad of matches consisting of individual and team scored shoots, varying from distances between 200 - 1,000 yards. "These are all the best military shooters," said Col. Timothy Parker, commanding officer, Weapons Training Battalion. "Here we have all of the best military shooters in the United States, and they go against each other to see who [are] the best military shooters." Read the complete article .

2015 Biennial Coach College and Conference - Coach College 24-26 August and Coach Conference 28-30 August - USAS wants all coaches that are interested to have access to the information presented at these Biennial Coach Conferences. This year USAS will pilot the live coach conference broadcast to all USAS Certified Training Centers (CTC) and a few other independent sites. This will allow coaches the choice of traveling to a closer broadcast site that maybe in commuting distance which will reduce travel time and cost. They will still offer an opportunity to attend the live conference here at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Registration fee is $170. CMP Garand-Springfield-Military Master Instructor Training Workshop. Experienced rifle marksmanship instructors and shooters who would like to receive advanced training and be certified as "Master Instructors" to teach CMP-sanctioned Garand, Springfield and Vintage Military Rifle or Rimfire Sporter Clinics are invited to apply to attend a 2015 CMP Master Instructor Training Workshop. 2015 dates and locations are:

The CMP National Matches include Pistol and Rifle Small Arms Firing Schools that are mandated by law and a series of CMP National Trophy Rifle and Pistol Matches and CMP Games Events along with the National Match Air Gun Events. The CMP fulfills its responsibility to conduct the National Matches through a working partnership that includes the Ohio National Guard and the NRA.

The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) invites you to participate in the 6th annual National Matches Air Gun Events. These events are part of the National Matches at Camp Perry. Their purpose is to offer additional competition opportunities for National Matches pistol and rifle competitors as well as for anyone who wants to shoot in the National Matches with their air pistols or air rifles. All of these events will take place at The CMP Gary Anderson Competition Center on MegaLink electronic targets.

The Civilian Marksmanship Program invites you and your team to participate in the CMP's Monthly Matches. The matches will take place on the dates listed below at the CMP's Marksmanship Centers North and South. The competitions will feature a Junior Air Rifle 3x20 and 3x10, a 60 Shots Air Rifle and Air Pistol match, and a 20 shot Novice Prone match. Rental equipment is available for the monthly matches for a small fee.

CMP Aces Postal
** New in 2015 **

 


The CMP "Aces" Postal satellite match offers all junior and adult air rifle and air pistol shooters a program designed to encourage participation in the sport and test marksmanship skills nationally with their peers. The program consists of Air Rifle, Air Pistol, and Para-Air Rifle/Air Pistol events.
