ANNOUNCEMENTS

Listen to CWEE's CEO, Laurie Harvey's interview about job growth  on NPR's  All Things Considered

Recently, Laurie visited Washington DC with
advocating for workforce and education policy to improve the lives of low-income Coloradans.

CWEE had an exceptional amount of job placements during the first six months of our fiscal year! CWEE helped place participants in more than 230 positions with an overall average wage of $10.38, which is $2.07 above Colorado's minimum wage, and $3.13 above the federal minimum wage.

In March, our Digital Literacy Instructor is launching a new quarterly workshop entitled "Social Media in the Workplace" to increase our participants' understanding of appropriate use of social media sites.

Colorado Gives Day was a huge success! Generous supporters raised more than $10,000 to empower families to become self-supporting.

During the Holiday Wishes event, 128 children received gifts for the holidays!

PARTICIPANT STORY

"My experience at CWEE has prepared me for my future in many ways. I've learned a lot about my potential and how to face my fears of public speaking. After months of working on strengths and researching my dream job, I found an internship in event planning. I'll be working for Community Shares as their event planning intern for 8 weeks. During this time, I will be researching venues, looking for best ideas for problems that arise and planning a 30th Anniversary for the company. I'm very excited for this opportunity and look forward to using all of the skills I've gained at CWEE to further my career as an Event Planner." -April Garza
