Teachers as Leaders of Professional Learning
Lessons from Ontario's Teacher Learning and Leadership Program (TLLP)
This article discusses Ontario's Teachers Learning and Leadership Program (TLLP), which aims to support experienced teachers' professional learning, develop teachers' leadership skills, and facilitate knowledge exchange to share practices.  To support knowledge exchange and spreading practices, the twin strategies of developing professional collaboration and of developing practical resources for use by teachers appear to be the most prevalent and impactful approaches. Lessons emerging for education systems and for teachers seeking to develop professional learning and leadership by, with and for teachers are outlined.

Innovation to Best Practice
I've recently begun following George Couros, the author of the book,   The Innovator's Mindset, and the author of the blog, The Principal of Change. He shared this graphic to illustrate some of his recent thoughts:

This is not about change for the sake of change; it is about constantly understanding and questioning why we do what we do, not just taking it for granted.  This is why reflection is crucial to the process of teaching and learning.

Two Articles on Collaborative Inquiry
Collaborative inquiry is a powerful design for professional learning that supports the notion of teacher leadership as it recognizes the role of teachers in on-going school improvement. It provides a systematic approach for teachers to explore issues and determine resolutions through shared inquiry, reflection, and dialogue.

Collaborative inquiry situates teachers' everyday work as the central focus for their learning as teams identify student learning needs, investigate promising approaches, test new strategies in their classrooms, collect evidence, collectively examine results, and determine next steps.
