You asked for it! Based on the great interest in last month's web discussion on this topic, we've asked our presenters back for Part 2. This second web discussion will feature Susan and Tracy from the Infant and Toddler Connection of Fairfax-Falls Church sharing more information about the use of the primary service provider (PSP) approach. With input from the audience, they will explore why using a PSP approach is important and what it is and isn't in practice. They will share more details about how they have implemented this approach in their local system, including how staff were prepared to use it, how the IFSP team determines who the PSP will be, how this is captured on the IFSP, and how teaming works. They will also answer your questions throughout the web discussion to help you consider how implementing this approach in your program could benefit children, families, and IFSP teams.

Dana Childress, M.Ed., Susan Sigler, CCC-SLP, and
Tracy Shiplett, DPT will be co-facilitating this web discussion. Dana is an Early Intervention Professional Development Consultant with the Partnership for People with Disabilities at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has worked in the field of early intervention for more than 20 years as an early childhood special educator, service coordinator, supervisor, trainer, and writer. Susan is a speech-language pathologist. Currently, she is the Clinical Director for the Infant and Toddler Connection of Fairfax-Falls Church. She has been with the program in that capacity for 15 years. Prior to joining the ITC of Fairfax-Falls Church, Susan provided early intervention services in several states to include Virginia. She enjoys participating in local, state, and federal workgroups that focus on implementation of new research and development of policy. Tracy Shiplett, DPT is a pediatric physical therapist and co-owner of Therapy 4 Kids in Fairfax, Virginia. She has been providing early intervention services in Northern Virginia for over 15 years. Tracy is currently a practicing therapist, as well as a clinical supervisor of a team of occupational therapists, speech therapists, physical therapists, and infant educators working with Fairfax and Prince William Counties.
