Please help us support literacy both at WMS as well as through the developing World.  The English department, along with support from parent volunteers, is organizing a book swap to get books kids love into their hands.  Students are encouraged to bring in at least one book that they loved to donate to our sale which will be going on next Monday and Tuesday.  Your child will have the opportunity to buy a book for just one dollar (so that they can be all set for summer reading!!). All proceeds will be contributed to Room to Read.  

Please look around  your home this weekend (or remind your child to do so) to find at least one book a 6th, 7th or 8th grader would enjoy that you are now willing to part with and put it in your child's backpack.  (Any Wayland Middle School books you find along the way should also go into your child's backpack to be returned as well).

This is both a task-oriented and celebratory time and we appreciate your support on both fronts.  Our goal is to ensure that all students end on a high note academically and socially. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns. 

Please note that a student's participation in an end of year social or trip is contingent upon meeting all obligations in all classes - this means books, Chromebooks and other materials returned, lost books or other materials paid for, etc. Next week, homeroom teachers will let students know if anything is missing, and will have your children call you for your assistance in either locating missing items or paying for them. This weekend, please encourage your child to start cleaning out and sorting through book bags, and to look around the house and car for stray school books and return them to school. Many thanks!
