Botswana is fast becoming a destination of choice for families who want their children to experience the magic of an African safari. We are proud to announce the launch of our new Ultimate Family Safari Packages. 

New family rooms at Chobe Game Lodge, Savute Safari Lodge, Camp Moremi and Camp Okavango allow for us to assist families in experiencing Botswana on a choice of multi-destination safari packages in a way that Botswana has never been experienced by travelling families before.
We understand that every family is different with unique travel requirements. In doing so, we want to make it easy and flexible to plan that ultimate family safari experience for your guests. We have come up with 4 night, 6 night and 8 night packages with a choice of any or all our magical safari destinations included. 

All the Ultimate Family Safari Packages are fully inclusive as per our standard rates and include all scheduled charters between camps, operating to/from Maun and/or Kasane in both directions. Importantly our Ultimate Family Safari Packages include a private guide allowing for greater flexibility on activities and daily safari schedules.

Furthermore, each property has a dedicated "Safari Hero", a staff member in camp, whose attention and function is dedicated to the planning of flexible safari activities and experiences for the family. This ensures that children are kept busy while in camp doing a variety of activities which interest them while at the same time giving them an opportunity to connect with our staff.

Important Information

Routing: 

The Ultimate Family Safari Package offers flexibility with four, six and eight night options covering any camp combination. Each package can be booked with routings in and out of Maun or Kasane. As per our Best of Desert & Delta Safaris packages simply pick your routing, preferred camps and length of stay on the rate sheet to obtain the package price.

Pricing: 

Each package will be offered with three rates tiers:

* Adult sharing rate
* Children 12 to 15 years
* Children 6 to 11 years

The total package price is calculated by simply picking the correct tier for each member of the family and adding them together. 

Package rates for the Ultimate Family Safari Packages will be distributed accordingly. Alternatively, you can request these through [email protected].

Package Includes:
 
  • Accommodation
  • Private Activities for the family - offering greater flexibility with activity and meal times
  • All meals, refreshments, local brand drinks
  • Laundry service
  • National Park fees, Airport departure taxes, government levies & taxes
  • Medical Evacuation Insurance
  • All scheduled charter flights as per package
  • Activity Backpack for all children 6 to 15 years
  • Dedicated family host per camp to plan activities, meals etc.
  • Adapted in camp activities for the children/family members - basket weaving, animal spoor tracking, bird identification, back of house ecotour and more.
Important Booking Conditions & Notes:

The Ultimate Family Safari Package can only be booked with a minimum of three family members travelling together. 

This package only applies for bookings by families with at least one child travelling between the ages of 6 and 15 years. Children below 6 are not permitted at Desert & Delta Safaris Camps (Children of all ages allowed at Chobe Game Lodge) and children 16 years and older are considered adults. 

Ultimate Family Safari Package camp sequences must run consecutively. The package cannot be split or broken up to accommodate non Desert & Delta Safaris properties in between.


A reminder On Our family Rooms

Family rooms, featuring two bedrooms each with ensuite bathrooms are available (as of 01 March 2016) at Camp Moremi, Camp Okavango (opening 14 April) and Savute Safari Lodge. An additional bed can be placed in family rooms at Chobe Game Lodge, Savute Safari Lodge, Camp Moremi and Camp Okavango, provided at least one child is between 6 and 11 years.

Family rooms with two bedrooms and shared bathroom, interleading standard room and/or family suites are available at Chobe Game Lodge. Triple rooms can be booked at Leroo La Tau, Xugana Island Lodge and Camp Xakanaxa if required.
