Our colleague, Jack Molodanof who represents the Automotive Service Councils of California and the California Autobody Association wrote an article regarding the BAR and automotive parts suppliers understanding of their compliance issues. This also applies to hard parts suppliers and not just crash parts suppliers. A must read, see ( here). Calculating Sick Leave for Employee with Multiple Rates of Pay

How do I pay for sick leave under California's new law when an employee has more than one rate of pay? Do I pay the rate they would have earned on the day they called in sick? See the enclosed article from our friends at the California Chamber of Commerce for more details ( here). Recall, you have ½ hour per month of legal counsel to address business issues such as this. See www.cawa.org to find the attorney in your state. Another member benefit.

Prop 65 Warnings for the Auto Care Repair Segment of the Industry

With regard to Section 25608.24 & 25608.25 Service Station and Vehicle Repair Facilities Warnings, we believe that it would be more appropriate and beneficial for consumers to provide separate content warnings for vehicle repair facilities because repair facilities do not typically dispense gasoline or diesel at their locations. We propose the following Proposition 65 Warning Sign ( here) and ( here). For more information or to answer your immediate questions, see our Director of Government Affairs, Jennifer Zins at [email protected] or 916.871.0603.
