The Heart of the Community

Before we begin the new year, GRPL would like to express its appreciation to the Friends, the Garden Club, and the Senior Activities Club for all their hard work, generosity, and unwavering dedication.

Without the Friends, our rich calendar of programming for all ages and interests would not be possible.  The Friends have generously donated funds to improve the library in so many ways, including underwriting the refurbishment of the circulation area and providing emergency funding to replace many beloved picture books ruined in a recent flood.

The Garden Club keeps the library beautiful, both inside and out, throughout the year. The wonderful Senior Activities Club, transforms the library into a performance space in the blink of an eye and then puts it all back together again.

We are also very grateful for our hard-working library volunteers who help us do our jobs more efficiently and smoothly. Our reliable and cheerful volunteers are cherished and valued members of the Glen Rock Library family.

We are very fortunate for this much-needed support. Thank you to the entire Glen Rock community for helping Glen Rock Public Library continue to be the heart of the community.
Best wishes for 2016!

END-OF-THE YEAR GIVING TO THE FRIENDS

The Library is a place for everyone. Bergen County estimates that in 2014, libraries were the service used most by residents. Glen Rock is considered one of the smaller county libraries, yet it ranks as one of the busiest libraries in the system, with 74% of residents holding a library card.

As you begin to make your end-of-the-year donations, please consider putting the Friends of the Library on the top of your list. By making a donation to the Friends, the whole community benefits.

You may send your check to the Friends of the Library, 315 Rock Road, Glen Rock, NJ 07452.   Or make a donation directly via PayPal by going to Join the Friends. (Click on the Friends logo in the right column. Then click on Donate Now through Network for Good/ PayPal in the left column.)

The impact of your donation is very real and very much appreciated. Monies raised help underwrite the popular Summer Reading Program and a variety of other events for all patrons. In addition these funds are used to enhance the collections of books, DVDs, CDs and other special materials.
