May 2015
In This Issue

While it may not appear like summer outside, we are certainly in summer mode here at the EC. In addition to wishing a 3-month adieu to a number of our students, turning the composter onto slow mode, and planting up our garden and greenhouse, we have also begun to plan for the year ahead. On that front, we have begun the hiring process! Please read on to learn about some exciting ways to join our team and get involved with the FLC Environmental Center.

Environmental Center Happenings

We are hiring an Assistant Coordinator

The Environmental Center (EC) is seeking an organized and energetic individual to assist with the EC's programmatic, operational and administrative functions. The Assistant Coordinator position will play an integral role in training and supporting our student leaders, overseeing office operations, spearheading projects/programs in our focus areas, and coordinating various operations. The latter includes work with both our in-vessel compost system and our campus garden. This is a 9-month, full time, permanent position.

Hiring Student Project Staff for Fall 2015

The EC is looking for a few passionate students interested in learning how to create institutional sustainability and social change. Student staff work with their peers in a fun, team-oriented environment to build out projects, programs, and events that help to progress the EC's Local Food Security, Zero Waste, Real Food Challenge, and Campus Sustainability objectives. Along the way, staff gain invaluable professional skills, build an amazing community, and have a huge impact on our school and home.
