1) Federal Election forum on the Environment


There is a federal election forum focusing on the environment  happening next week.


Where: First Unitarian Universalist Church (603 Wellington Crescent)
When: Tuesday, October 13th, 7-9 PM

Candidates from the Green Party, the Liberal Party and the NDP have confirmed their attendance to this informative forum. I encourage you to come out and listen to what the participants have to say about how they will protect our environment!


2) Community Symposium on Low-Income Housing 

Right to Housing, the Manitoba Research Alliance, and the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives will be holding a community symposium on low income housing later this month. 

When: Thursday, October 22nd- 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Where: West End Commons, 641 St. Matthews Ave, 

This free workshop will consist of presentations from chapter authors from Poor Housing: a Silent Crisis on their research, followed by an afternoon workshop facilitated by Right to Housing devoted to developing solutions to the housing crisis.

The launch party for the book discussed at the symposium, Poor Housing: A Silent Crisis will be held at McNally Robinson on Wednesday, October 21st at 7 pm. All are welcome to come celebrate the book's launch and to pick up a copy!
