Vault clarification from Marian Dykes-RTCC
I keep having the same question come up regarding Level 8 vault with spot(s). Therefore, I have done some research with other Technical Directors and Tim Koll.
The motion reads:
Recommendation that for Level 8 Vault only: If the coach spots the gymnast during the post flight, a 1.00 deduction is applied rather than voiding the vault. The current 0.50 deduction for spotting assistance upon the landing is still in effect.
I believe the intent is a 1.0 deduction for spotting the post flight and 0.5 deduction for spotting the landing for a total of 1.5. Hopefully this email will clear up any confusion.
