Righteous Conversations | Virginia Avenue Project Production
November 20-22, Miles Playhouse, Santa Monica
Throughout September and October of 2015, The Righteous Conversations Project, in partnership with local non-profit organization Virginia Avenue Project, conducted a six-week workshop with drama students at Santa Monica High School. Working with mentor filmmakers and playwrights, this class produced short films and theater scenes inspired by the narratives and reflections of the Survivors they met with.
The plays and films, entitled "Reading Through," are premiering this weekend at the Miles Playhouse in Santa Monica:

LAMOTH Welcomes Jewish Federation of Greater Santa Barbara
This week we were pleased to welcome the Women's Division from the Jewish Federation of Greater Santa Barbara. LAMOTH President Randy Schoenberg spoke to the group and gave a special tour of the Museum, including our temporary exhibit, "
The Recovery of the Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I: The Republic of Austria v. Altmann," which chronicles Randy's epic legal battle to recover Gustav Klimt's iconic painting from the Austrian government on behalf of his client, Maria Altmann, who was Adele's niece.

LAMOTH Lisa Jura Young Pianist Showcase Recital
Last weekend eleven talented teenage pianists from across the Los Angeles area performed in the LAMOTH Lisa Jura
Young Pianist Showcase Recital. The students performed pieces featured in
The Children Of Willesden Lane, by Mona Golabek and Lee Cohen, the true story of the escape by Mona's mother, Jewish musical prodigy Lisa Jura, from Nazi-controlled Austria to England on the famed Kindertransport. The students, who were selected for their talent, advocacy and commitment to Holocaust commemoration, performed on the historic
Blüthner piano in LAMOTH's Holocaust and Music exhibit, which before the Holocaust belonged to a Jewish musician in Germany named Alfred Sendrey. You can see more photos from the recital

L'Dough V'Dough at Milken Community Schools
Students at Milken Community Schools joined with Holocaust Survivors to braid and bake challah as part of LAMOTH's
L'Dough V'Dough program this week. While they made the challah, students learned about the Survivors' life experiences. This was LAMOTH's second L'Dough V'Dough session of the school year at Milken.
