Now through Monday, Dec. 7, CES will be collecting new and gently used children's books for students prekindergarten to third-grade-plus to distribute to CES students at their homes.

Drop off locations are available at all Carrollton City Schools libraries/media centers.

CJHS Milestones testing
posts strong results

The release of statewide results for the new Milestones testing system shows that all Carrollton City Schools outperformed the rest of the state in critical categories.

The Georgia Department of Education released the results of the new Georgia
Milestones standardized testing Nov. 16.

Performance at Carrollton Junior High School outpaced the state as top level learners exceeded language arts and science scores.

"We are pleased with our science and language arts scores, but we have work to do in a couple of areas," said Dr. Todd Simpson, CJHS principal. "While this is the first year of these scores and comparisons are difficult, we will determine what we must do to best prepare our students for high school. Their success depends on us providing them with every opportunity." READ MORE

Trojan Store certificate

Brian Loftin, one of 957 parents/community members who provided feedback in the second annual "Trojan Tune-In" district survey, is the winner of a $500 gift certificate to the Trojan Nation Store.

"We are extremely pleased with the response to the Trojan Tune-In," said Jay Goodman, director of Strategic Communication for Carrollton City Schools. "It is important for people who are invested in Carrollton City Schools to have an opportunity to share their thoughts on what we do well and how we can improve. Having almost 1,000 people take time to give us feedback helps us immeasurably."

Loftin and his wife Jean have two sons in the school system - Drake, a freshman at CHS and Parker, a seventh grader at CJHS.
Parent survey to support
school improvement

Carrollton City schools are participating in the Georgia Parent Survey program and need your help. The survey contains only 24 questions. You will be able to complete the survey using your personal computers, smartphones or iPads.

All survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for school climate analysis.

The survey will remain open through Friday, Feb. 26.
