Gold Star/Blue Star Mothers' Tree
Honor a U.S. Service Member with a Star

"What started as one tree in Laconia in 2006, has grown to well over 26 trees all over NH." Stars of gold, black and blue adorn the tree bearing the names of US service members past and present. Blank stars are available at the Library for friends and family to add the name of someone currently serving, or a past veteran, to the tree.

We are so thankful to have a dedicated, passionate group who make up the Friends of the Goffstown Public Library! Every year they assist us in ways that add value to our Library for the entire community. From small projects to large, in 2015 the Friends have:
  • beautified the outdoor space & kept our urns full of flowers,
  • helped build & supply books for our Little Free Library in Abingdon Park,
  • lent extra hands for children's and adult programs,
  • fully funded the museum pass program - that's more than $2,800 every year,
  • contributed almost $1,400 so families could decorate gingerbread houses together in our annual FREE programming!
  • purchased a loveseat for the children's area and reupholstered our reading chair to match,
  • purchased a "Pyramid of Play" for our smallest visitors, a new sound system for Open Mic Night and other events, and new folding chairs & storage.
The total spent on the GPL by the Friends this year amounted to $7,315.66, to be accepted by the Library Board of Trustees at their December 16 meeting.

Please take the time to visit the Friends' web page at www.goffstownfriends.com and sign up for their newsletter, become a member, and support their annual fundraising initiatives. Email them at [email protected] and extend your appreciation for all they do for the Goffstown community.
