NEA announces major grant to support
Seven Responses

The National Endowment for the Arts announced today a $30,000 Art Works grant awarded to The Crossing to support  Seven Responses, our largest project to date.  We are so pleased to add this essential government funding to the large sum already committed to the project by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, as the project becomes a reality through this generosity and that of our individual donors.

The NEA has awarded more than $5 billion in grants since its inception 50 years ago. The funding round announced today awards more than $27.6 million to organizations and groups across the country. The Art Works category supports the creation of works and presentations of both new and existing work, lifelong learning in the arts, and public engagement with the arts through 13 artistic disciplines or fields. We are so happy to receive this recognition for our role in inspiring new works of artistic value.

NEA Chairman Jane Chu said, "The arts are part of our everyday lives - no matter who you are or where you live - they have the power to transform individuals, spark economic vibrancy in communities, and transcend the boundaries across diverse sectors of society. Supporting projects like the one from The Crossing offers more opportunities to engage in the arts every day."

We thank the NEA - and the people of the United States - for their support: join the conversation about this announcement on social media  using #NEAFall15.
