Parent Pick-up and Drop-off

We ask for your patience over the next few days as we continue to feel the effect of the snowfall. Our parking lots and sidewalks have been cleared over the past few days and are ready for learners and staff members tomorrow morning. Please be patient as you drop your child off or pick your student up at dismissal time. Give yourself plenty of time because parking will be limited until some of the snow melts. Please be sure to refrain from parking in handicapped lots unless you have the proper license plate or tag on your mirror. We can't wait to see our learners, we have missed you.

Stony Brook Sports Jersey Day

Support your favorite team on Friday, February 5 by wearing a  sports jersey, t-shirt, or your favorite team colors.

I bet you can't guess what team Mrs. Grondin will be supporting.   Go Broncos!!!

COUNSELOR CORNER

During January, classroom guidance lessons in each grade will focus on ways we are alike and different and how to respect others by including others in our green circle.  Our green circle stands for our circle of caring, sharing, and respect.
Here are a few discussion points concerning our district-wide K-3 Green Circle Program.
What is Green Circle? The Green Circle is an age-appropriate, educational series for pro-social skills addressing the topics of inclusion, exclusion, and our growing diverse world.
Can Green Circle help in bully-prevention?  Yes.  Although bullying typically peaks in the older grades and involves harmful behaviors repeatedly directed at a weaker, targeted person, the Green Circle program is one of the best bullying prevention programs for young children, as they "try out" various behaviors to navigate their social world. They learn positive language, problem solving skills, and awareness of diversity.
In keeping with our ROAR program, we are working on ways to show obedience.
Please feel free to contact me at ext. 2108 if you have any questions, concerns, or would like to set up an appointment to meet with me.
Have a safe, warm, and happy winter season!
Counselor Tip of the Month-  With the busy holiday season behind us, it is important to take time to  slow down.  Take time to appreciate each other and our own precious gifts......our families and friends.  This is a great time say "Thank you" to your loved ones.

Appropriate Winter Attire!

Please be sure that your children come to school with the appropriate winter attire. Students will be going outdoors when the weather permits and coats, hats, and gloves are a necessity.
