             A Perfect Match

Reddington

Hello everybody and we hope this update finds you all doing well.
A lot has happened over the last few months. We have been going through a transition period since the loss of our beloved founder and good friend Laurie Beauchamp. As you all know, Laurie was battling cancer. Laurie was such an amazing and strong woman who never let the cancer bring her down.
This has been such a trying time for me. Laurie taught me so much, however there is so much more to learn. We want to let the public know that Fur and Feather is still running strong even through the difficult times we have been having. Many are under the impression that because Laurie is no longer with us that Fur and Feather has shut down. This is not the case. We want everyone to know that we feel it is our duty and responsibility to keep Fur and Feather running as promised to Laurie and as a service to Catron county. This is her legacy and we will do everything possible to keep our word. Lately we have been receiving very few donations and contributions. We  have managed to care for all the animals.
The loss of our friend, wife and founder has been hard for everyone, including the animals, however, we are still moving forward and thriving with a positive and productive outlook for the future. Deb, Brad Beauchamp, and myself Sarah Ross are still here and carrying on as usual. We also have two new members of the team who have been helping us tremendously with the animal care, book work, and upkeep of the grounds. My sister Jennifer Ross has moved back up to the Pie Town area from Truth or Consequences and is a great asset to Fur and Feather. She has been helping with organizing, writing thank you cards, cleaning up the office, helping me with daily chores, and her main focus lately has been on the cats well-being and health. She has many great new ideas for a cat facility.
David has been living on the property in the guest trailer, helping Brad with numerous projects and upkeep on the campus. David is such a great person to have around and I think he is good for Brad. I also want to mention a few of our wonderful volunteers and helpers, who's generosity and contributions have helped maintain Fur and Feather's needs. Tammy Olsen and Paul Kaster have delivered large donations of dog food to Fur and Feather numerous times. They also have helped with many transports and adoptions of dogs. They have always been here when we  needed them most. They  adopted Momma Mia, a wonderful three legged dog who we thought would never find a home. Tammy and Paul are both amazing people and we are very grateful for all of their help. Another excellent volunteer we have had here at FFAA, is Debra Krikorian. She has been so helpful with bringing us dog food and dog treats whenever she can.
Troylyn Zimmerly and her mother have also helped FFAA by bringing us dog food from Walmart donations. They also adopted a dog named Boots who is very happy now. We are so thankful to have volunteers like these, because it's people like them that help keep Fur and Feather going. We want to give a big shout out to all these helpers!
This year we have had many new dog rescue's and a lot of successful adoptions. We recently rescued a starving mother dog and her five adorable puppies.  She was roaming the streets and living under an abandoned trailer house. My sister Jennifer and I helped capture and rescue all six animals. They were all so happy to have attention, food, shelter and water. All six animals have been adopted through Animal Humane in Albuquerque. Animal Humane is a wonderful animal rescue group who has been working with us quite a bit. We are so happy that these critters found their new forever homes with loving new owners.
As we move towards the end of another year, we would love to have you come visit, look at the projects we are planning, and all the new animals we now have.
Please know that your donations keep us going and allow us to take in new animals and care for all of their needs. We are very grateful for all of your support. Come join us at The Pie Festival in Pie Town Saturday September 12th! We will be having a booth there. Look for the Fur and Feather banner.
We've put this newsletter together to give you some highlights of the last few months. As always, we welcome you to join our team. Your visits mean so much to the animals and us!

Thank you all for your contributions.
Love from all of us here at Fur and Feather Animal Assistance,

Sarah

Brad Happy about his new workshop remodel. Though it has been hard for Brad more than I can imagine, he is moving forward, and keeping busy with projects around Fur and Feather. He has his good and bad days as can be expected.  We have a small but good support group.

Featured Pets

Eagle
Eagle is a very special boy.Though he is still timid, once he warms up to you, he will be your best friend. We think he may be part Irish setter and possible Chow mix.  He is good with other dogs and seems to be fine with cats. He has a silly and playful demeanor and would make the right person very happy. He is definitely ready for his forever home
Eagle
Benny
Is a great dude.  He is pretty high energy, and very smart. He is a quick learner, and does best when it is one on one with his person.  He would be a great dog for an outdoorsy type, or a candidate for agility. We think he is a heeler cross. Benny is ready for his forever home.

Tank
This little guy is so cool. He is a dachshund staffordshire terrier cross. He gets along with everyone. He is medium to high energy, and will be a very loyal friend. He is good with children and cats.  Tank is fairly new here and catches  on pretty quickly. I think he would make someone very happy.
