Summertime and the livin' is easy...or is it?  Summer brings great weather, beaches and BBQs but it can also bring a whole lot of unplanned time to fill.

We can help!  Join us this summer to meet new friends and learn how to keep those new friends all while preparing them for the new school year.  Kids who attend Simply Social Kids just come and play!  We do the rest (they don't even know they are learning friendship skills!)

Check out our summer groups, Minecraft Clubs, Coping/Calming and Personal Power/Kindness Clubs.

Are you new to us?  Come visit us at our final open house for this school year  on June 18 and learn more about our  programs or call 978-764-2758.

For siblings ages 8+ who have brothers & sisters with special needs
Come to one or come to all! Sibshops acknowledge that being the brother or sister of a person with special needs is for some a good thing, others a not-so-good thing, and for many, somewhere in between. At these awesome events, Sibshops facilitator Nadine Briggs will have the kids playing games, making friends, and talking about being a sibling of child with special needs.

The Sibshops events are for siblings without special needs ages 8 and older. Children must be able to safely participate in a large group with only one staff.

Registration is required.

Simply Social Kids coaches children ages 5-17 on how to make and keep friends.  Our innovative, non-clinical approach is extremely effective in teaching kids how to form meaningful friendships that last.  Kids come weekly to play and hang out.  We do the rest.

Coping & Calming Club:

In the Coping & Calming Club, kids will learn:

Coping Skills - kids will learn to understand what causes anxiety, how it manifests in thoughts, feelings and behavior and they will learn powerful strategies to manage stress.

Mindfulness - Kids will begin to understand how to calm their minds and bodies by learning mindfulness techniques.

Personal Power & Kindness Club:

In the Personal Power & Kindness Club, kids will learn:

Personal Power - their choices make them powerful.  They will examine feelings and how to manage very strong feelings while gauging their reactions to situations.

Stick Up for Themselves - kids will learn how to stick up for themselves in a productive, friendly manner.  They will be given language to use in such situations and practice through role playing.

Random Acts of Kindness - practicing random acts of kindness is an excellent way to promote self-esteem.  In the club, kids will have weekly kindness tasks.

Minecraft Club:

Kids will need to have a Minecraft account and bring their own laptop or tablet with power cables.

Testimonial

"Carol always enjoys spending time in your groups. She feels very safe at SSK. Calming and coping has been particularly beneficial. We are always looking for new ways to help ease the anxieties felt in everyday life. After the session on meditating she felt so much better. The next day I saw her actually applying what she learned. It's been great for me, too!"

"Hi Nadine, Bobby loves going to Fridays group. He looks forward to it every week. He loves listening and participating in new, helpful coping strategies every week. The group will be missed when the class is over. Bobby enjoys both groups including the fact that he meets up with different friends from each group. Bobby continues to love going to simply social kids every week and lets us know all the time how much he likes the staff, kids and volunteers.  Bobby also enjoys Skype chatting at least once a week with various friends from group. The conversation can sometimes last a couple of hours. Thanks again Nadine for the ultimate gift."
