Of all the currents disrupting healthcare, from consolidation to rollout of value-based care delivery and reimbursement models, population health management continues to deliver the most significant impact on business operations for the second consecutive year, according to the 2016 Healthcare Trends & Forecasts survey administered in November 2015. Forty-two percent of respondents to the twelfth annual industry snapshot by the Healthcare Intelligence Network said population health management had exerted the greatest influence over their organizations in the previous 12 months, echoing the surveys 2014 findings within a percentage point. Other high-impact drivers in 2015 include patient engagement (39 percent), budget constraints (39 percent), hospital readmissions (37 percent) and hiring and recruitment (37 percent).
