Jaime Caldwell Takes the Helm as Interim President of the South Florida Hospital and Healthcare Association

Following Linda Quick's retirement on December 31, 2015, the Dania Beach based South Florida Hospital and Healthcare Association Board of Directors named Jaime Caldwell the Interim President.

Mr. Caldwell served as the Association's Vice President for the past seven years. He has 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry including: health care regulation through the Florida Department of Health, management of a multi-state emergency medical transportation company, and health care policy analysis with the Association.

"For the past 28 years, the healthcare of our community has benefited from the management stability at the South Florida Hospital and Healthcare Association. We are blessed to have Jaime Caldwell's expertise and experience in continuing this tradition in his new role as Interim President for the Association. The Board of Directors of the South Florida Hospital and Healthcare Association is looking forward to working with Jaime as we continue to address the healthcare challenges at the local and state level," said Lincoln Mendez, CEO,

Accountable Care Options Partners with FAU's Advanced Nurse Practitioner Program to Provide Hands-On Experience for its NP Students

Boynton Beach based Accountable Care Options, LLC has partnered with Florida Atlantic University's (FAU) Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing to enhance the learning experience for Nurse Practitioner (NP) students who are pursuing master's and doctorate degrees. The students have an opportunity to obtain firsthand experience working alongside primary care physicians within the Accountable Care Options network.

Accountable Care Options is a primary care-exclusive network of physicians dedicated to lowering Medicare costs by focusing on wellness and prevention, as well as doing a better job of managing individuals with chronic conditions. The approach of Accountable Care Options is consistent with FAU's College of Nursing's caring-based philosophy.

NP students are matched with primary care practices based on physician requests. The FAU faculty members work to find the best fit between the students and providers. The students have the opportunity to gain significant experience and add value to the physicians.
