Research Fellow in Rural Water Supply
Location: Cranfield University & Kenya
Start Date: April 1, 2016
Length: 12 month
Cranfield University is looking for someone who is passionate about improving water supply to the 748 million people who still do not have access to an improved source of drinking water. The research will focus on sand dams, impermeable concrete structures constructed across seasonal rivers. These structures trap both water and sediment behind them, in effect creating an aquifer. Your research into the quality of water they produce for nearby communities will improve the scientific understanding of sand dams and provide aid donors with the confidence to invest in this low cost technology.
