Time is running out for OSHA under the Obama administration to complete some of its regulatory priorities. If OSHA stays on track, some new and revised regulations could debut early in 2016. Click here to find out how you could be affected in 2016.

According to Federated Insurance, falls are the most common cause of workers compensation injury claims for contractors. Ladders cause most of those fall injuries, but stairs cause a lot too. Workers trip over equipment, slip on stairs, or just take a misstep, and the next thing they know, they've fallen. When your employees are exposed to these kinds of hazards routinely, remind them of these basics:
- Running is risky! Slow down, take your time and watch your footing.
- Wear the proper shoes. Some type of work boot, usually non-skid soles and steel toe boots can help prevent injuries.
- When carrying tools and equipment, make sure it's not too much too handle. If it's an over-sized load, make more than one trip. Bundle the load so nothing creates a tripping hazard.
