New Industry Roundtable Planned for September

Women in Lumber Leadership (WILL) is a new peer-to-peer learning opportunity spearheaded by our neighboring LBM association, Construction Suppliers Association (CSA). This learning and networking experience will explore the challenges of women working in a male-dominated industry. WILL is a unique opportunity for industry women from across the U.S. to come together to develop their leadership and management skills. The first meeting is scheduled for September 22-25 at Forrest Hills Mountain Resort & Conference Center in Dahlonega, GA. Space is limited to 25 women. The registration deadline is July 1. Cosponsors Added to EPA
 Lead Reform Bill

 

Reps. Andy Barr (R-KY) and Blake Farenthold (R-TX) are the latest House members to sign on as cosponsors to the Lead Exposure Reduction Amendments Act (H.R. 2328) that would reform the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Lead: Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) rule for residential remodeling. NLBMDA members should contact their Representative through the

Legislative Action Center and ask them to support H.R. 2328.  
Online Resource Kit Educates Building Pros on Stock Glulam Beams

APA- The Engineered Wood Association is expanding its extensive educational tools with a new online resource kit on stock glulam beams and providing information to inform end-users on non-custom glulam beams and showcase the material's capabilities. Glulam is one of the original engineered wood products, and for decades it has proven to be a trusted, high-performance structural framing member for projects ranging from simple headers in homes to sweeping dome arches spanning more than 500 feet.
