EXPLORING MUDRAS
with Tina Romensko
Saturday, November 14th
9:00AM - 11:30AM

Exploring Mudras with Tina Romensko
MUDRAS are gestures of the hands, feet, eyes, or body. The focus in this workshop will be on the hand mudras and is based on the work of Joseph and Lillian LePage
(Integratve Yoga Therapy).

In this innovative class, Mudras will be incorporated into every part of the practice (meditation, breath, postures and relaxation) as a way of listening more deeply to our subtle energy body. We will also discuss the history of Mudra in the ancient teachings.
Mudras used with meditation and visualization can effectively enhance our awareness and understanding of many facets of Yoga Philosophy including the Koshas, Chakras,
Pranavayus and The Eight Limb Path. Therapeutic Mudras support health and healing in body and mind, encouraging practitioners to release old habits and ways of being, opening up more space for balance and integration with our Divine nature. Mudra chains offer the ability to compare sensations awakened with one mudra to another and can also amp up the energy experience to a new level.

Feel the movement of your fingers awakening the body to a new melody - a new song never sung before. Flowing energetically in the intonation of the Mudras. (Excerpt from Mudra Song by Tina Romenesko)

CAPOEIRA WORKSHOP
Roots of the Dance Fight Game
with  Colin Van Ert
Sunday, November 22nd
1:00 - 3:30pm

Capoeira Workshop
In this immersive workshop you will be introduced to the Brazilian Martial art of Capoeira, a fusion of dance, fight and music, as well as Yama Yoga's newest class.
Capoeira transcends the boundaries of traditional martial arts.  It offers an environment for dancers, fighters, musicians and artists while ultimately creating union and community.  Its movements build a strong, flexible, and coordinated body while its elements of music and history build camaraderie among those that play the jogo, or "game of capoeira."

Led by Graduado Gafanhoto ( Colin Van Ert) of Capoeira NagĂ´ Milwaukee, this workshop will give you everything you need to start a new practice in capoeira.  It will review fundamental movements and practices, review history and philosophy and allow a lot of room
for "playing" and having fun in your own body again.

This workshop is for anyone interested in learning this unique art form.
There is no skill or experience level required.  Capoeira is for all who seek it out!
