MUDRAS are gestures of the hands, feet, eyes, or body. The focus in this workshop will be on the hand mudras and is based on the work of Joseph and Lillian LePage
(Integratve Yoga Therapy).
In this innovative class, Mudras will be incorporated into every part of the practice (meditation, breath, postures and relaxation) as a way of listening more deeply to our subtle energy body. We will also discuss the history of Mudra in the ancient teachings.
Mudras used with meditation and visualization can effectively enhance our awareness and understanding of many facets of Yoga Philosophy including the Koshas, Chakras,
Pranavayus and The Eight Limb Path. Therapeutic Mudras support health and healing in body and mind, encouraging practitioners to release old habits and ways of being, opening up more space for balance and integration with our Divine nature. Mudra chains offer the ability to compare sensations awakened with one mudra to another and can also amp up the energy experience to a new level.
Feel the movement of your fingers awakening the body to a new melody - a new song never sung before. Flowing energetically in the intonation of the Mudras. (Excerpt from Mudra Song by Tina Romenesko)
