Small Business Saturday Free Parking
Town Green is pleased to support our district merchants and entice more visitors to kick off their holiday season in Downtown New Haven by offering free metered parking on Saturday, November 28, 2015 in celebration of Small Business Saturday.
 
Shoppers, diners, and theater-goers can park at meters covered with white bags featuring the Town Green District, and Shop Small logos for TWO hours on the following blocks: 
  • Chapel Street from State Street to York Street 
  • Temple Street from Chapel Street to Crown Street 
  • Crown Street from Church Street to Temple Street
  • Elm Street from Church Street to State Street 
  • Church Street from Wall Street to Trumbull Street

This summer, Town Green, The City of New Haven, Market New Haven, and Visit New Haven introduced over 2 dozen colorful "Welcome to New Haven" light pole banners to welcome visitors and enliven the streetscape.

We're offering a unique opportunity to place your logo and promote your business on these banners. Businesses can simply provide their logo and be offered a choice of location, color and language. Read More

Even with his arm in a sling, Matthew Feiner managed to cut the ceremonial ribbon on Devil's Gear Bike Shop's new Orange Street location. When Matthew Feiner first came to New Haven 20 years ago and was riding his bike all over town, people made fun of him.  Read More 
SHiFT Cycling
On Wednesday, October 21, 2015, Mayor Toni Harp officially welcomed SHiFT Cycling to 199 Crown Street. This is SHiFT's second location, the Guilford studio opened in March 2014. The vision was to create a workout experience that is accessible yet challenging to every rider, no matter where they are in their fitness levels.

In the monthly economic review of October 2015, the National Retail Federation announced that consumers remain a resilient economic force, as long as they continue to spend.

Craft Beer Week in New Haven
Downtown New Haven continues to expand its offering of craft beer. Now there is an entire week dedicated to tasting these brews. With this year's Craft Beer Week, New Haven joined in the celebration of an exploding industry in Connecticut, one that could eventually put it on the map with states like Illinois, which boasts a relatively small but powerful craft beer production.
