Some Thoughts on Qigong by Laura Lightfoot
Alignment: I find it to be grace; strength; integrity; inherent self-awareness; access to will, vitality and creativity; feeling harmony both internally and with environs, knowing that these spaces are both distinct and the same; finding balance and presence in constant flow; connecting to the earthiness of being human in this moment while
acknowledging the subtle energies around and within; presence; rhythm; lightness with a ground; relaxed contented repose with ready immediate access to underlying power; clarity; moving forward lightly, joyfully and appropriately, and being still lightly, joyfully and appropriately from the center of true Self.

Alignment is found quickly and instantaneously, like a lightning strike of satisfying self-awareness and joy in being oneself. Alignment is also attained through many years of struggle, dedication, work, study, love, commitment, connection, extreme challenge and enormous reward. And it is discovered in a beautiful multitude of experiences in between these. All are legitimate and enlivening, and I certainly have an abundance of experience with the latter extreme following my intuition and listening closely to my heart as I have spent so many hours, and still do, working and breathing and struggling and learning to unconditionally love myself through challenging times, knowing the rewards are plentiful and awe-inspiring.

Dedicating time and energy by committing myself, on the "good" days when it's easy and fun as well as in the most trying times, to meditation through the ancient practice of Qigong - gracefully harmonizing movement with breath in the most natural and life-affirming ways in order to gather and manage the vital energies available to all of us. This has been the surest and truest way I have found to gain the strength and deep connection necessary to flow freely and flexibly, moment to moment, with clarity and alignment. I have also discovered some quick and relatively easy flashes of alignment, all of which moved me tremendously and often brought a deep sense of relief and much-needed happiness with being myself. Many of these experiences touched my consciousness deeply enough to warm me as I recall them at will now.
