Dr. Ox's Experiment is a story by the French writer and pioneer of science-fiction, Jules Verne, published in 1872. It describes an experiment by one Dr. Ox and his assistant Gedeon Ygene. In the unusually stuffy Flemish town of Quiquendone, Dr. Ox begins to surreptitiously pump a gas through a network also connecting the gas lamps resulting in the townspeople becoming more lively and acting younger and younger....

Coming to London, he opened a haberdasher's shop in Gracechurch Street. He interested himself in the anti-slavery movement, and published a large number of tracts and pamphlets in favour of that cause.....

Sardou married his benefactress, Mlle Helene de Brécourt, in 1858 but eight years later (1866) he became a widower. Autograph letter signed. One page, 8vo. Dated Avril 1867 on his personal letterhead (blind embossed VS and Marly de Roi where he lived - same place as Alexandre Dumas.)
Victorien Sardou was a French dramatist. He is best remembered today for his development, along with Eugène Scribe, of the well-made play. He also wrote several plays that were made into popular 19th-century operas such as La Tosca (1887) on which Giacomo Puccini's opera Tosca (1900) is based, and Fedora by Umberto Giordano, a work that popularized the fedora hat as well...

Interesting there is no stamp on the envelope suggesting in may have been hand delivered? Letters from Hadamovsky are rare to the market.
Eugen Hadamovsky was a radio production director for Nazi Germany. He was an early Nazi supporter, who helped organize Nazi radio listeners and handled the technical details at many of Hitler's mass rallies....
