Greetings,

On Friday, February 12 at 7 p.m., KOSC presents  Winter Skies - learn about the stars, constellations, and various deep-sky objects visible in the winter . If clear, see the Orion Nebula, the moon, Jupiter and other celestial objects through our telescopes.

See the panel below for more details.

Please consider registering your child or grandchild for our upcoming classes. There are offerings for students in grades 1 through 8 in our Pegasus classes, and for preschoolers in our Winter/Spring KoperniKids series. We also have our continuing series of girls-only science classes called Girl Power - during the school spring break on March 21 & 22.

If you are not already a KOSC member, please consider supporting KOSC by joining today. There are many benefits to becoming a member such as:
  • FREE Admission to the Kopernik Observatory & Science Center.
  • Free or reduce admission into over 300 museums and science centers
  • Discounts on classes and gift shop purchases.
  • Invitations to special members-only events.

Finally, join us on Saturday, February 20 for Kopernik's annual Winter Star Party. I hope to see you soon at a public program,  a class, or the Winter Star Party!  More details on the Winter Star Party can be found on our website.

Winter Skies
Friday, February 12
7 p.m.
Learn how to identify constellations and planets in the winter sky, and how to spot the International Space Station. Free star maps will be provided. If you have your own telescope, bring it with you and a Kopernik Astronomical Society member will help you learn how to assemble it and use it. Although it is cold, winter is one of the best times to view planets and stars, so head up to Kopernik, away from the city lights! If clear, see a first-quarter Moon, star clusters and double stars!
