Awards

Pledge Leaders

Kindergartener Maya Hernandez and second-grader Stella Hernandez from Carl Schurz Elementary were the pledge leaders for the month of January.
 
 
NBHS Female Student of the Month

Julie Ricks was recognized as the NBHS Female Student of the month for January 2016.

NBHS Male Student of the Month

Garrett Malatek was recognized as the NBHS Male Student of the month for January 2016.

Board Recognition Month

The NBISD Board of Trustees were recognized at the beginning of the monthly board meeting for their service and dedication to NBISD. January is observed at Board Appreciation Month across the state.

Academic All-State Volleyball

Board Trustee Rigo Montero recognized Shannon Wierman, Geri Malinovsky and Kaylee Ruppel for being named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association Academic All-State. Also pictured (far right) is Head Volleyball Coach Robin Gerlich.

Academic All-State Football

The Texas High School Coaches Association recognizes student-athletes from around the state in various sports for both athletic and academic performance. The guidelines to qualify for Academic All-State require that the nominee be a senior, have an overall GPA of 92 or above, must be an athlete, student trainer or manager in good standing with the team and be of good moral character. The students are recognized as a team member based on their scores in the following categories: GPA, class rank and ACT/SAT score.

Principles of Attendance Zones for the administration to follow when rezoning campus attendance zones. The adopted principles include: Optimize Space; Stability; Heterogeneously grouped; Neighborhood Schools; and Program Uniformity.
