February is I Love To Read Month and the Children's Museum is planning a fun-filled month to get everyone excited about reading. Every weekend in February we will be featuring special story times and crafts all related to our theme: I Love To Read About... Captivating Characters! Join us for story times at 11:00AM and 1:00PM and participate in crafts from 11:00AM to 3:00PM each Saturday and Sunday in February.

FRANCO-FUN DAY 
FEBRUARY 15, 2016

At the Children's Museum, Louis Riel Day is the opportunity to celebrate French-Canadian culture. Join us on February 15 from 11:00AM to 3:00PM and enjoy special crafts and story time in French as well as performances from Franco-Manitoban artists, Ça Claque. Don't miss our very special Franco-Fun Day!

Au Children's Museum, la Journée de Louis Riel est l'occasion de célébrer la culture franco-canadienne. Le 15 Février, les festivités se tiendront de 11 à 15h! Vous pourrez profiter de notre bricolage et de nos histoires en français ainsi que d'une performance de la compagnie de danse franco-manitobaine Ça Claque, d'une rencontre avec la Famille des Voyageurs et d'une gourmandise. THE BRUSH OFF!: 
CALL FOR ARTISTS 

We are searching for 15 talented artists representing a diverse range of artistic styles and cultures to participate in the Children's Museum's upcoming The Brush Off! fundraising event, and to actively create live art pieces that will be auctioned to an audience that includes museum supporters, local artists, business owners, and community leaders. To sweeten the deal, all artists will receive a $100 Artist Honourarium, complimentary Artist Kit, and 15% of the proceeds* from any of your work sold through auction.
(*applicable on the final selling price of your item, less the $50 minimum bid amount)

Deadline for Submissions: February 16, 2016

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION SESSION FEBRUARY 20, 2016 

The Children's Museum is looking for volunteers to assist with our upcoming spring programming. Are you fun, creative, and interested in making a difference? Help spark kids' creative learning - become a Children's Museum volunteer today or share this message with someone you know! Prospective volunteers need to complete an online application. As online applications are received, prospective volunteers are contacted, registered to attend an information session, and given information about specific volunteer roles at the Children's Museum.

MINI MONDAYS  
MONDAYS IN FEBRUARY   

Mondays at the Children's Museum are very special days. Every Monday from September to April, join us for a fun-filled morning and afternoon of stimulating play for children under 4 years old. We provide tailored crafts to help develop fine motor skills, activities that aid in dramatic play, and a special story time at 11:00AM and 1:00PM in our Time Squared gallery.

February is all about reading and telling stories! Join us in crafts and activities all inspired by amazing books selected for our youngest visitors with I Love To Read About... Captivating Characters!

Witness the energy and outpouring of creativity as 15 talented local artists compete to actively create art, and place your votes to help determine the Artist of the Evening. EARTH DAY

MEMBERS MORNING
APRIL 22, 2016

Visiting the Children's Museum is always fun! Members can start their 2016 Earth Day experience bright and early with our first Members Event of the year. Members and their guests (up to two FREE guests per active member) are invited to join us on Friday, April 22 for exclusive before-hours access to the museum's 12 interactive galleries, complimentary morning refreshments courtesy of Tim Hortons, PLUS a special Meet & Greet with Take Pride Winnipeg's mascot, Louie the Lion. Attendees will also have the opportunity to enter the draw for a Children's Museum membership and Take Pride Winnipeg book, Timmy the Tumble Bag. At the event's conclusion, all guests are welcome to extend their Children's Museum stay (at no charge) when the doors open to the general public at 9:30AM.

No registration required. Maximum event capacity is 120.
