Friends of Blue Hole

February 2016

theparkinwinter The Park in Winter

A local friend recently gave a glowing report of his family's holiday gathering. He, his wife and nearly-grown kids went almost every day to Blue Hole Regional Park where they shot hoops, explored the trails, kicked around the soccer ball, and hung out together.

The park in winter! The swimming hole rests. It's peaceful and meditative and even the fish are enjoying a little quiet time. The park uplands are wide open and so are the playscape and sand volleyball courts. A few guys toss the basketball. Trails invite walkers. The big Texas sky is impressive and many winter days are warm and gorgeous.

Winter brings a whole different park experience. Don't miss it!
Thank you for your support of Blue Hole - the natural place to be.

  Nature
Master Naturalists Assisting Nature

Restoring native species and removing invasive ones, such as Johnson grass, will always take watchful eyes and willing hands at the award-winning park.
Under the direction of park staff, Master Naturalist volunteers are regularly helping to remove invasive species. Recently, they helped replace plants washed away during the Halloween 2016 Flood. Thanks to you all!
