RAMSEY EXTENDED DAY
Dear RED Families,

Welcome to the winter edition of our newsletter!  We hope you had a wonderful and relaxing holiday.  The cold weather is definitely here but this hasn't stopped our RED students from staying as creative and active indoors as they were outdoors. Read about all the wonderfully enriching activities your children are experiencing in RED.
DATER RED
Happy New Year to all of you from Dater RED. We have been enjoying the nice weather until very recently so we are now taking our fun inside.  In particular, we have been enjoying our Human Bingo game. Yes, you heard it right, HUMAN Bingo. We broke the students into three teams and each team had to roll three dice.  Each team added or subtracted from the dice to reach a number on the board. When they figured out one of the correct numbers they would stand on the space and proceed to try to get BINGO.  Once BINGO was shouted o ut, the winning team received a treat. The students are having a great time playing this fun, educational game.

Special thanks to Chris Wilson who  jo ined us from  the Headstrong Project. Chris gave t he
students an appreciation for what it's like to be in the military. The students followed up the pr esentation by making cards for recruits who are currently in basic training.

We are excited to be welcoming back Ms. Sondra Tackett, M.S.,R.D,, Shop Rite's nutritionist, on Feb. 11. Sondra will be sharing some healthy and fun treats for Valentine's Day.
HUBBARD RED
Happy New Year from all of us at Hubbard RED. Our talent, trivia and comedy show has moved inside for the next couple of months.  Fridays are our days to perform since there is no homework club.  Ask your child about their participation and get ready to smile.....a lot!

We decorated our door with a snowman designed by Sarah while the rest of us made our very own personalized snowflakes to add to the door.  We're enjoying the newest addition to our tactile table toys , Kinetic Sand.  If you have never heard of it, it's sand that comes to life with the very touch of your fingers.  As you can see, the students are thoroughly enjoying it.

In keep with our Jack Frost theme, we will attempt to grow salt crystals and examine the results with magnifying glasses. We are hoping to freeze the bubbles and watch crystals form before they pop!

Some of our students offered to lead an arts and crafts session.  Brianna showed the other students how to make yarn and stick snowflakes and Charlotte showed the other students how to make yarn scarves and headbands by weaving the yarn through our fingers.  Our results were truly amazing as you can see from some of the students' results.

We can't wait to welcome back Ms.Sondra Tackett, M.S.,R.D.,Shop Rite nutritionist, back on March 16 to make something fun and nutritious with us for St. Patrick's Day.
TISDALE RED
Tisdale RED students have been taking advantage of the beautiful weather we've been having (until just a few days ago).  We love getting outside and doing what we love best...playing! We also enjoyed making button snowflakes in December as gifts for our families for the holidays.

We look forward to having a "Crazy 8" math club starting in February.  This class will be an eight week class and will consist of fun games while learning math.  It will be offered to the 2nd and 3rd graders first and then we hope to extend it to our younger students.  We know this will be a club that will be enjoyed by all.

Fresh fruit continues to  be a weekly favorite of ours. We look so forward to that deli very so we can enjoy the various items offered.

We look forward to welcoming Ms. Sondra Tackett, M.S.,R.D., Shop Rite nutritionist, back on April 22 for Earth Day.  We are excited to see what fun and nutritious snacks we will make this time! Check out some of our students enjoying some delicious pesto zoodles made with zucchini and grape tomatoes during Ms. Tackett's first visit.
