Pre- event
The 29th annual July 4th parade in Blacksburg will set off at 2 p.m. from the Old Blacksburg Middle School, travel along Main Street, and end on Alumni Mall near the Virginia Tech Drillfield. This year's theme is "This Land is Your Land."
The Mount Tabor Ruritan Club sponsors the parade, and also the free movie "The Lorax," which will be shown after the parade in The Lyric Theatre on College Avenue.

This is a rain or shine event- in the event of bad weather, the event will move down one floor inside the parking garage.
Parking in Kent Square Parking Garage- 50% of proceeds will go directly to Special Olympics of the NRV, thanks to Park Inc.
Fireworks are courtesy of Town of Blacksburg and are launched at the Municipal Park on Patrick Henry Drive. Kent Square rooftop offers a great vantage point of the fireworks. If weather conditions prevent Town firework display, there will be no alternate fireworks at this event.
Concessions
Food at the event- Domino's Pizza- donations to Special Olympics NRV for slices or whole pies.
Blacksburg Bagels selling pies, pretzels,pita chips, cookies.
Wine by Beliveau Estate Winery
Beer sales by DBI will benefit Special Olympics.
BluSkye Hoops will be onsite with all the hooping action!
Special Olympics will sell soft drinks, water and t-shirts.
