Interested in participating in government?
Seeking volunteers for County Advisory Boards
We're looking for interested, motivated residents to serve on a few Contra Costa County advisory boards. These volunteer boards usually meet monthly and advise the Board of Supervisors on a variety of issues.

They play a vital role in County government, and I'm grateful for their input.

Applications are currently being accepted for the following commissions. (In most cases, the commissioners must live in District 1, which i ncludes the cities of  Richmond,   San Pablo,   El Cerrito,  part of  Pinole,  and the unincorporated communities of East Richmond Heights, El Sobrante, Kensington, Montalvin Manor, Tara Hills, North Richmond, and Rollingwood.)

Alcohol and Other Drugs Advisory Board
Arts & Culture Commission (AC5)
Economic Opportunity Council
Emergency Medical Care Committee
Fish & Wildlife Committee
Juvenile Justice/Delinquency Prevention Commission

For more information on these commissions:
  • Click on the County's Advisory Body web page
  • Then click on the scroll-down list. (On the first line on the page, "Details on each appointed body, committee, commission.")
  • Download an application here.

Or call or email James Lyons ([email protected]) in my office at 510-231-8692.

Interest, enthusiasm and some kind of experience in the commission's area of interest, including as a volunteer, are helpful qualifications.
Respectfully,
John
