General Registration packages will end on Monday, February 29. After that Hotel rates will go up to normal summer rates.
On March 1, we have to give back to the hotels any rooms that we have not sold for the convention. That was our contract with them when we started planning the convention two years ago.
We would love to hold onto the rooms, but that would mean we have to guarantee paying for them, even though they might go empty. And we can't do that.
Yes, we will still be able to book rooms and accept reservations, but the cost of the hotel rooms will no longer be under our control. The hotels will put the rooms back in to their inventory and be
put on the market for the general public.
Eventually the rates will
go back up, to their standard Summer Rack Rate.
This could be 25% to 50% higher or more.
For example the Chateau, under our contact, is $189. But now it is $229 to $249 or higher as we near July.
As we get closer to vacation time all Branson hotels will be filled, especially the week of July 4, when they sell out!
To insure getting the discounted convention rates, you need to contact Taunya as soon as possible. and Each day that we draw closer to DS2016, more and more of our committees are starting their work.
