We're building a network of Forest Pest First Detectors to help identify new outbreaks of emerald ash borer and other invasive pests. Come to our workshops to learn about Minnesota forest and tree pests. Workshops are planned for February in Marine on St. Croix, Mankato, Carlton, and Fergus Falls.

The gathering of this year's Minnesota Phenology Network (Feb. 12-14) focuses on the current mild winter and El Niño effects on plants and animals. Learn about phenology, animal tracking, and mountain lions from experts in these fields. The UMN Extension Forestry team has been busy this winter planning a new landowner education program set to roll out in spring 2016. We will use a blend of face-to-face workshops and online courses that allow you to learn alongside fellow forest landowners just like you.
