February 2016

When our manufacturers launch new products, we want you to know about them. Once a month, we will highlight a few, along with any other company updates. "I.D.E.A.S." is a good way to describe what our agency offers. Here's this month's featured list.
FACTORS FOR PLANNING A LIGHTING PROJECT

In this video, Jeff Quinlan, Technology Specialist of Acuity Brands, shares several helpful tips for planning lighting projects. He discusses the importance of having a wide portfolio of lighting products and controls to support multiple applications, plus potential changes down the line. He also points out how important it is to have compatible fixtures that will work with other types, as well as consistent color temperatures across the board.

SHUFFLE
FROM SCHRÉDER

Definitely something new and cutting edge, the Shuffle is a system that combines multiple different features into one lighting pole that functions as a complete network. Lighting and controls are of course 2 of the features, while others include a wireless network, professional camera system, loudspeaker, and a charging station. All of these provide a wide variety of options for people in public areas to enjoy, but also helps users stay safe and informed.

DECORATIVE LENS & REFLECTOR COLORS

Two nice decorative options are now available from Focal Point. The Nivo Lens and Frosted Lens can provide a unique visual aesthetic. The Nivo can be positioned from the ceiling in 1" increments up to 3" down from the ceiling. The Frosted Lens has a solid option that offers a soft glow, and an open frosted option that has a polished edge. Focal Point also carries two new reflector colors. You can go with white or black paint depending on your look and style.

FROM XELEUM

This is a great fixture for stairwells, parking decks, industrial, and other commercial spaces that may go unoccupied for long periods of time. The series was designed to only provide full illumination when the room or area is being used, providing up to 85% energy savings. They also have settings available to dim the fixtures to a certain level, as opposed to powering off completely. The Artemis series includes a basic, low occupancy, and stairwell fixture.
