SVCC Student Now Familiar Face on Georgia TV
A once familiar face around the halls of Southside Virginia Community College in Alberta is now being seen on TV as a newscaster for WRDW News 12 in Augusta, Georgia. Benjamin Billmyer recently landed a job as Multimedia Journalist with the television station.

Smyth Joins Foundation Board
The Southside Virginia Community College Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to welcome Sid Smyth.  He is a life long resident of Southern  Virginia and is active in both business and local government.  He holds a Masters Degree in Business from the VCU School of Real Estate and is an Associate Broker with Long & Foster in Lunenburg County.  Mr. Smyth also currently serves on the Southside Virginia Community College Local Board.
Dr. John J. Cavan Named President Emeritus 
Former Southside Virginia Community College President Dr. John J. Cavan has been granted president emeritus status by the Virginia State Board for Community Colleges.  The honor was awarded in recognition of his more than three decades of service as SVCC president and for his exceptional leadership, innovation and service to education in Virginia.

Robertson to Instruct Power Line Workers
Clyde Robertson knows the ups and downs of being a Power Line Worker.  He plans to pass this knowledge on to the first class of the Southside Virginia Community College Power Line Worker Training Program beginning March 1, 2016.  Read More
