Helping women and men age gracefully and naturally has been my goal since I began this incredible journey ten years ago.
At the time, many of my colleagues thought I was out of my mind to pursue the relatively uncharted field of aesthetic medicine, but I knew if I followed my heart and trusted my instincts I would realize my dream of making an impact on people's lives by bridging the gap between health and beauty.
Fast forward ten years to today and the field of aesthetic medicine has grown exponentially. I believe one of the reasons my practice has been able to remain ahead of the curve is due to my early belief in the power that lay within anti-aging technologies, and the ability of those technologies to enhance and even change my patients' lives.
As I look back on the past year, I'm amazed at what an incredible year it was for new technologies and also for La Chelé Medical Aesthetics! We introduced

, the treatment that combines radio frequency energy with microneedling to give unparalleled skin tightening results. We were also one of a handful of practices in the United States to receive pre-launch status of two new modalities for reducing submental fat, or a "double chin." The first is

. This treatment headed by our nurse practitioner Jaclyn Tyson has been so successful for us that La Chelé is the number one provider of Coolsculpting in the entire region. One of the reasons we are granted early access to new devices is my status now as a national speaker and trainer of physicians and surgeons for Allergan, Galderma and Cynosure, a distinction of which I am very proud. Keeping La Chelé (and me) on course every day is my incredible staff, which has now grown to 17 of the most compassionate, accomplished professionals in the industry. I am so proud of them, and their daily strength and support are what has helped make the success of La Chelé possible.
While the support of my staff is priceless, we would be nothing without all of you. You, after all, are the foundation on which my practice was built. 2016: The 'Necks' Generation

KYBELLA: Melt Away your Double Chin.
While some are lucky enough to inherit their mother's high cheekbones or their father's baby blue eyes, others are plagued with the genetic curse of the double chin. Excess submental fat has long been a tricky issue to resolve and the only way to rid excess fat in this area was with invasive and painful liposuction. That is, until April of this year, when the FDA approved the first and only injectable to permanently dissolve fat in the submental (double chin) area:
Kybella. This injection is truly a game-changer: with over 20 clinical studies that included 2600 patients, nearly 70% of patients experienced a reduction in the amount of fat under the chin. An added bonus? These patients also reported an improvement in their emotional wellbeing. Most felt less self-conscious, embarrassed and old after having the treatment done.
The key ingredient in Kybella is a proprietary formulation of synthetic deoxycholic acid, an acid that is naturally produced by the liver to aid in the breakdown of fat. After the injections are administered, fat cell membranes are broken down and reabsorbed into the body. Most patients do require two to three treatments, spaced six weeks apart, and should anticipate some minor downtime that includes swelling, bruising and tenderness in the injection area.
