ANNOUNCING TRANSITIONS MINI CAMPS FOR TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS WITH AUTISM AND OTHER LEARNING DIFFERENCES

High school students and young adults are invited to Transitions' state-of-the-art Adirondack facility for three days of informative seminars and fun with like-minded peers. At the camps, participants who are diagnosed with learning differences will get answers to important questions about their journey into adulthood. There will be seminars, enrichment classes, a keynote speech from a successful individual with a learning difference and more. This is the perfect opportunity to experience a taste of Transitions  and meet Transitions instructors, mentors, alumni and current Apprentices.

Transitions Apprentices MaryBeth and Joel gave back to the community this Thanksgiving by preparing and serving
m eals to local seniors. Volunteerism is an important part of the Transitions experience. Not only does it boost the confidence, self-esteem and skills of the Apprentices, it teaches them the importance of helping others and making the community a better place.  

Congratulations to Apprentice Garett, whose Transitions internship as a maintenance technician has turned into a job! Garett, who is also a full-time student at Fulton-Montgomery Community College, will continue working toward his degree in Construction Management.

Apprentice Olivia, right, studies at both Schenectady County Community College and  Fulton-Montgomery Community College. Not only is she an extraordinarily gifted actress and singer, she is also an accomplished choreographer who has helped stage several local productions. She is shown here starring in a recent production of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" at the Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts.
