Apprentice Happenings

Transitions is proud to have so many talented and successful students in its ranks. The following are just a few examples of Apprentices achieving excellence in their community.
Transitions Apprentices MaryBeth and Joel gave back to the community this Thanksgiving by preparing and serving
m eals to local seniors. Volunteerism is an important part of the Transitions experience. Not only does it boost the confidence, self-esteem and skills of the Apprentices, it teaches them the importance of helping others and making the community a better place.
Congratulations to Apprentice Garett, whose Transitions internship as a maintenance technician has turned into a job! Garett, who is also a full-time student at Fulton-Montgomery Community College, will continue working toward his degree in Construction Management.
Apprentice Olivia, right, studies at both Schenectady County Community College and  Fulton-Montgomery Community College. Not only is she an extraordinarily gifted actress and singer, she is also an accomplished choreographer who has helped stage several local productions. She is shown here starring in a recent production of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" at the Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts.

ABOUT TRANSITIONS
The Transitions program builds school skills, life skills and  independence for high school graduates and young adults with autism spectrum disorders and other learning differences. Its specialty isn't just in teaching students how to study or learn a trade - it's in showing its students that they can live a life that even they never dreamed of.

NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR 2016!

I miss everyone that I met at Transitions every day. I actually started to miss everyone the day I left the program. When I was there I wanted to be home, but at home, all I want is to be over at Transitions with the friends I made. I really hope I do not lose them due to distance. I had the best time of my life at this program and hope I can come back there again.
