Shabbat Shalom
From Rav Tomer Ronen
We had an action packed two days of school during Chol Hamoed Sukkot this week. From spiritual tefillot, music, and dancing to fun trips to engaging educational programming, Sukkot at BPY this week was full of meaningful and memorable experiences for our children. During a holiday when we get to appreciate more fully the importance and value of having a permanent and sturdy home throughout the year, our Sukkot celebration at school was made even more special this year as it is our first Sukkot as owners of our school's permanent home on Frisch Court - a milestone we will get to celebrate together as a community at our Chanukat Habayit on October 18 at 1:30 PM (see below for more information).

I want to express my deepest gratitude to our amazing staff for making this week so special for all of our students. The fruits of their creativity and dedication will no doubt last for many years in the hearts and minds of our children.

Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach,
Rav Tomer Ronen
Hallel
Each day this week began with a beautiful communal Hallel.
Play the short video clip below to listen in.
Hakafot
Even though this year's Hakafot had to be moved inside because of rain, our spirits weren't dampened at all as we celebrated and danced together!

Pey Dalid Concert
On Wednesday afternoon, all of our students were treated to an incredible Pay Dalid concert, full of ruach, excitement, and even more dancing!

Pat's Pals
Early childhood students had a fabulous Thursday morning with Pat's Pals animal show! They saw a snake, a wallaby, a parrot, a chinchilla, a skink, a hedgehog and more.

Trips!
On Thursday, junior high students reached new heights at the Palisades Adventure Climb Ropes Course, pre-k visited World of Wings, and kindergarten explored the Tenafly Nature Center.

Discovery Learning Day
Based on the book If You Hopped Like a Frog by David Schwartz, Thursday's Discovery Learning Day program was all about estimating, measuring, and comparing. Elementary school students learned about the incredible abilities of different animals and tested their own physical limits in the same areas. They even studied measurement in Tanach, the measurements of a kosher sukkah, and conducted their own animal races. At the end of the day, students Skyped live with the author, David Schwartz. A huge thank you to Morah Jean and Morah Stephanie for orchestrating this incredible STEM program!

Achdut Annual Campaign

As we are about to share the final stretch of the chagim
with our families and loved ones, we don't doubt that you've been hearing from your children about the fantastic and unique experiences that they are having at Ben Porat Yosef.

Whether it's Discovery Learning Day exploring measurement, engaging tefillah and  tashlich experiences, holiday-focused classroom activities or our dynamic chol hamoed programs - our teachers and administration have prepared tirelessly for an exciting and dynamic year. It's important to us to kick off the year ahead in such an exciting and fun way to set the tone for what lies ahead for our students.

We can only continue to offer such enriching programming and special opportunities with the financial resources necessary to provide them.

If you have not already done so, please make a donation or pledge to the Achdut Annual Campaign and join BPY parents, grandparents, staff, and community members in prioritizing the educational, social, intellectual, and emotional home away from home for our students.

to make a one-time or recurring gift now.

**All recurring, automatic monthly donations are now being matched, dollar for dollar!  Any new $10,000 gift will be matched at 50 cents to the dollar.**

To discuss a pledge or gift, inquire about sponsorship opportunities, or volunteer to help with the campaign, please contact Rachel Weiss, BPY's Director of Development (201-845-5007 x35, [email protected]) or Josh Drazen, Achdut Annual Campaign Chair ( [email protected]).
