Love your neighbor as yourself
SERVANT to SERVANT                        12-18-15

Brothers and sisters in Christ,

I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a Blessed and Merry Christmas. As we quickly approach the celebration of the birth of the Savior, I want to encourage you to enjoy all the blessings that the Lord has bestowed upon each and every one of you. It is a reality for all who serve in the Church that we are inundated at Christmas time. From trying to prepare services and line everything up just right to making sure our families are taken care of, the hustle and bustle of this season takes over and, before we know it, the season is gone. Please, take time to give thanks to our God in heaven for all the little blessings of this Advent season. Take time to see the true miracle of the baby Jesus. The old adage is true, "Jesus is the reason for the season." There in the manger will lay the Savior of the world, a gift from our heavenly Father to His whole creation. Let this be your Christmas message. Let this be your Christmas Joy.

Blessings from the bishop

The LCMS National Youth Gathering is about seven months out!  As we begin the new year, your planning, fundraisers, meetings, and pre-gathering Bible studies will probably start to pick up a bit more. You will also start to receive more announcements from the Gathering office and myself. In the last week, you may have received an email confirmation letter letting you know that your group is in and registered for the Gathering. If you have not received a confirmation note, please contact me or the Gathering office. I continue to pray for you all as you prepare to take your youth to this great event. If you have any questions, or need help with anything, please contact me. I am here to support you. May you have a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!
