Marketing your business effectively requires an understanding of your business, who you serve, what you do, and more. It requires the development of key messaging that is central to your business and serves as the foundation for creating impactful marketing that will resonate with all key audiences. Building Your Brand is a presentation that will explore the financial services landscape to help the audience understand the importance of standing out from a crowded industry and the tactics every adviser must take to position themselves and their businesses for success. The presentation will provide the audience with a better understanding of the process for developing an in-time, on-time brand message (verbal brand), how that message is turned into impactful visual brands, and how it leads to the creation of an overall marketing strategy.

10:00am – 11:00am - Social Media and Your Brand
Presenter: Cassandra Bailey – President and CEO of Slice Communications
“Social media” is a topic that is on many people’s lips. However, there are challenges of developing and executing a social media effort that delivers a return on investment. It can seem almost as hard as launching a satellite. The truth is that social media should not be a literal or figurative satellite. It should not live in its own orbit disconnected from anything back here on earth. Instead it should be a coordinating media, meaning that it should support all a company’s marketing, business development, recruiting, and strategic efforts. Social media should help build a brand and make it accessible to people where and how they want it. When thought about this way, social media becomes more of a strategic priority and less of a big project hard to get off the ground.
The presentation will cover:
· Facts about the people that use the many social media platforms today
· Common concerns and fears about social media
· Ways social media can support a brand
· How to get started working social media into your marketing mix
