LENTEN WEDNESDAYS: Searching for Sunday
Wednesdays, Beginning February 17, noon-1 PM, Tyler Hall,
BYO lunch

Lent is the time when we intentionally prepare for the pinnacle event of our faith's proclamation on Easter Day, "Alleluia, the Lord is Risen!" This season of Lent, rather than "give up" something-like sweets-we invite you "take up" the practice of meeting in community to take an honest look at our relationship with God and with God's Church in a conversation shaped by author Rachel Held Evans's beautiful book, Searching for Sunday, and led by our clergy. We will meet in Tyler Hall at noon on February 17th and each Wednesday following until Holy Week. While we enthusiastically recommend Evans's book (available at Amazon or Cokesbury ), reading is not required to participate in these discussions. So bring a lunch, an inquiring heart, and a healthy sense of humor.

Can't make it to the class?
1Book1Diocese  Searching for Sunday  will be Lenten Book
Each week in Lent, starting on February 10th), we will add a reflection on the section for the week to the website:    1book1diocese.georgiaepiscopal.org.

You can take part by adding your comments on that reflection as well as your thoughts on the questions posed there and on anything you want to share on reading  Searching for Sunday.
Evensong & Reception
Sunday, February 21, 5:30 PM
The Saint Paul's Choir will sing Evensong on Sunday, February 21, at 5:30 PM. Evensong is a service of vespers sung daily in Anglican cathedrals around the world. It is almost entirely sung, has no sermon, and lasts less than an hour. This is an excellent opportunity to invite a friend to Saint Paul's. The Nursery will be available and a reception in Tyler Hall follows the service.

Youth (Grades 7 - 9)
Apply for March 4-6 New Beginnings Retreat
New Beginnings will take place during the weekend of March 4 -6, 2016 at Honey Creek. New Beginnings is a weekend retreat for teenagers in grades 7-9 led by a team of mostly teenagers, with a few adults, and two clergy spiritual directors.  The weekend takes participants through a discovery about ourselves, our friends, our families, our faith, and how to live out our faith in our daily lives. You are encouraged to bring friends from your church and an adult who will stay through the weekend. Everyone will take an active part in the program. You can go to New Beginnings as many times as you'd like...as long as you're in grades 7-9. We know once you go, you will want to go back. There is even an opportunity to serve on the team...you'll hear more about that at the weekend. Financial assistance is available.   Contact Ranie Neislar for more information.
