Big Thanks to our 2016 Legislative Breakfast Sponsors:
First Option Bank, Life Care Center of Osawatomie, Eddy Birchard Funeral Home and Landmark National Bank. Please join us for this event on Saturday, February 13th in the OHS Cafeteria at 7:00am. You will hear from area legislators and have the opportunity to submit your own questions for them, all while enjoying a free buffet style breakfast. Open to the public - all are welcome.
Tri-Ko Blood Drive
Tri-Ko - is hosting a Blood Drive on Thursday, Feb. 18th, at the Osawatomie City Auditorium from 1-6pm.   See attached flyer for more information.
After Prom Dodgeball
After Prom is hosting a Dodgeball Tournament on Saturday, February 20th in the Osawatomie High School Mac Steele Gymnasium.  Cost is $30 per team/6 people per team/All ages with a minimum of two female players per team. Check in will be at 5pm with games beginnning at 6pm.  Admission is $3 with children 3 and under free.  Concessions will be available. 
The 8th Annual Home & Business Expo/Job Fair/Health Fair  will be held on Saturday, March 26th at Osawatomie High School from 10am-2pm. Save the date!  Click Here  for all the information and printable registration form. Register early - space fills quickly. The deadline is March 4th.
Miami Co Cancer Foundation
Miami County Cancer Foundation - is hosting a Tuscan Moon Italian Cuisine Fundraiser on February 20th at Paola Town Square. Social Hour begins at 6:00 with Dinner at 7:00.  For more information on this event, click here. There will be live music and a raffle,  including a quilt. Hanes Florist - Valentine's Day is coming soon! This year it is on a Sunday so you will want to order ahead of time if you want something delivered to school or work the week before. Robert Barenklau Family Benefit - Everyone is invited to this benefit on  February 6th from 5-11pm at the  Miami County Fair Grounds in Paola. It  includes a  Chili Feed - $10 per person or $15 per couple,  Silent Staggered Auction 5-8pm,  Various Raffles and a  Live Auction at 8pm.  Robert was on the Osawatomie Fire Department for 7 years. He was a firefighter until his health declined and then he was the photographer on fire scenes. Robert passed away on January 6th from colon cancer. Miami County Tourism Networking Dinner -  Hosted by the Miami County Chambers of Commerce and Miami County Economic Development, this evening event provides tourism sites throughout the county a chance to network. Representatives from TravelKS and VisitKC will be on hand to offer tips and tools on how to maximize your marketing. La Hacienda,  546 Main St., Osawatomie will host the event on  Wednesday, February 24th, from  6-9 pm.

The 7th Annual Dress Swap will  be held  Sunday, February 21st at Osawatomie City Auditorium,  439 Main St.  from 1:00-3:00pm.  Looking for that perfect dress but don't have the extra cash??? Designed to help young ladies from the area save some money this prom season. Bring a dress, get a dress and nobody will be turned away!  Attendees can find dresses, shoes and jewelry from the racks of donated items. Over a hundred dresses to choose from. They can also register for door prizes while they are there (must try on dress or donate a dress to qualify for the drawings).  Interested in helping out? Here's how -  Look through your closets and donate any gently used, unwanted formal wear, dress shoes and jewelry;  Donate a gift certificate or service to be used as door prizes. Past examples include Manicures, Up-dos or other Salon Services, Tanning Packages, Corsages, Photography, Restaurant Gift Certificates and more - basically anything that a teenager would be interested in.  Please help spread the word to any young ladies that you know or anyone that may have items to donate.  Questions or to donate items - please contact Loretta at 913-731-1295 or Angie Goodwin - [email protected]
K-State Research and Extension  - is sponsoring a Community Board Leadership Series. You are serving on a board - now what? Sessions will be on February 23, 25 and March 1 and 3 from 6-8 pm. They will be conducted through a "high tech/high touch" approach at the Paola office. Cost is $40 for all four sessions for one board member. Call Diane Burnett at 294-4306 to negotiate a price for group rates. Registration buys a seat which can be rotated by participants! Registration is due by February 12. Osawatomie Elks Lodge -  Lots of activities going on at our local Elks Lodge! They are selling new gun raffle tickets with the first drawing in April 2016.  For more information contact an Elks Member or go by the lodge or contact Tom at (913) 909-0700. 
Friends of the Mentally Ill Foundation - Currently we are working on fund raising efforts:  We will recycle aluminum cans/scrap metal. We collect best choice bar codes. We have a selection of jewelry and thirty one products that we offer for a suggested donation. In addition, we have our engraved bricks that are placed at the Old Main Site at OSH (brick-cost $25). We provide monthly treats to patients at OSH. Our regular meetings are the first Friday of the month at 9:30. We meet in the Main Conference room, Administration Building at OSH.
