Firefighter Varnell was at the fire station attending training. As Firefighter Varnell was preparing to depart, he became ill and fellow Firefighters quickly came to his aid with basic life support measures. As more assistance arrived, advanced life support was provided as Firefighter Varnell was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to a nature and cause of injury still to be determined.
