Greetings,
What a great start that the BABC has had to this year. More great events culminating in a terrific 25th celebratory dinner hosted by Dr. John Gibson and his lovely wife, Sabina. It is events like this that the true passion of the organization is felt, ensuing relationships quickly develop into long term friendships. We look forward to some of the new guests joining this outstanding organization in the weeks to follow. I am particularly excited with the social and business events planned for this year and will be using top-notch locations. We expect attendance and memberships to grow dramatically, attendance to our events to increase, and the quality and nature to be more unique than ever before.
I would like to thank Valerie and our board for the outstanding work they did throughout 2015. I am particularly excited that we will be having a couple of new stand-out individuals joining our board this year, but I will make this public in my next column.
The success of the Young Professionals is certainly starting to take shape and the host of speakers for our lunch events have been superb. This will help mold these bright individuals for their future roles at the BABC and in life.
I encourage you to be involved - it truly makes a difference. What you put in is what you get out. Join our committees, attend our functions and spread the word of involvement to others.
I look forward to seeing you all soon and cheers to a very successful 2016.

UK Citizens Stop Queuing
|

Travel to the USA just got quicker and easier thanks to the newly rolled
out
Global Entry Program.
For UK passport holders, it will mean being able to sidestep the lines at Customs and Passport control and enter the USA via automatic kiosks. Britons will also be eligible for TSA Pre✓® at security, which means you will no longer need to remove your shoes, laptops and other items at security.
The process to register is simple and can be done online, by following this link. We do need to have a quick chat in person to complete your registration. This can usually be done when you are next at a U.S. airport, or mobile enrollment teams will be coming to the U.K. in early December and the New Year so you can complete your registration here instead.

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF UK VOTES TO LEAVE THE EU?
Next June the people of the UK may vote to leave the European Union. At the moment, a narrow majority favours remaining in the EU, but a large group are undecided. That group could swing towards a "leave" position, for a variety of reasons, including what might be temporary EU problems with refugees. However temporary the reasons might be, a decision to leave, once made, would be politically irreversible.

The European Union (EU) Delegation to the United States just published another "eu matters" entitled "Partners of Choice in a Complex World" looking at i) the scale of the EU-US economic relationship and ii) the many areas where the US and EU partner to confront global challenges.

| Queen Elizabeth will celebrate her 90th birthday May 12 - 15 |

T
he Queen's 90th Birthday Celebration
takes place in the private grounds of Windsor Castle in the evenings of12th - 15th May 2016. Visitors can expect to enjoy a spectacular programme of music, song, dance and equestrian displays. Each evening the event will be attended by a member of The Royal Family, with HM The Queen attending on the final evening.
The participants will reflect The Queen's private and public interests. Performers will come from a number of countries including Oman, Chile, New Zealand, Canada, Fiji, Australia, Azerbaijan and the UK. The military will be well represented and will include The Queen's Mounted Troops and more than 100 pipers.

Since Magna Carta was drafted in England in 1215, the charter has transcended culture, language, and ideology.
